[해석] 

많은 학생들은 다른 문화의 사람들이 다르게 살아가고, 행동하고 믿는다는 것을 상상하기 위한 삶의 경험이 부족하다.

온라인 공동 작업은 학생들이 전혀 경험해 보지 못한 장소에 대 해 배울 수 있는 믿을 만한 방도를 마련해 준다.

예를 들어, 다른 기후권의 초등학교 간 국경을 넘는 교류를 통해 한쪽 학교의 학생들은 한 번도 본 적이 없는 눈에 대해 궁금증을 가지고 있었으며, 반면에 상대편 학생들은 야외에 있는, 연중 운영되는 학교를 상상하려고 노력하고 있었다는 점이 드러났다.

작은 차이라도 그 차이를 전혀 접해 본 적이 없는 학생들에게는 작지 않다.

대부분의 학생들이 어른이 되어서 국제 시장에서 일하게 될 것이라는 점을 고려하면, 그들이 학교에 다니는 동안 다른 문화 양식을 더 많이 접할수록, 성인이 되었을 때 더 성공적으로 전환할 것이다.
