Elis 사람들은 자신들이 올림픽 경기를 조직한 탁월한 방법에 대해 뽐내면서 그것을 더 공정하게 할 수 있는 방법을 이집트인들이 제안해 줄 수 있는지 요청했다.

Psammis 왕은 자신의 가장 학식 있는 신하들을 불러 모았고 올림픽 대회를 조직한 데 대한 Elis인들의 설명을 들은 뒤, Elis인들이 Elis 출신의 자국 대표 들을 포함하여 그리스의 모든 도시국가의 대표들이 경기에서 겨루도록 하는지 물었다.
